At any rate, it was a clear misunderstanding about the identities of both men involved. That's understandable. However, the owner's subsequent treatment of our instructor and our group was inexcusable. Whether or not the owner knew that the man in the parking lot was associated with us is actually irrelevant. When a customer asks you, "What is going on?", you do not respond with, "None of your business! Sit back down!" In fact, the owner's claim that he did not know about our association with the man in the lot makes his behavior towards us even worse. Why in the world would you point at a customer's table and yell, "Make sure they pay their check!"

Ok so the night was going great and the food was really good but when we were in the restaurant my friends dad was sitting outside waiting for us to get done. So the owner of the store went out there and looked at the parking lot and instead of asking him what he was doing he assumed that he was drunk and was loitering so he came in and called the police on my friends dad. So when the adult that we were with tried to tell him what was going on he also got angry at him.

The owner certainly has a right to be concerned about what happens outside in the parking lot, but he obviously has no idea how to treat his customers inside--remember, we were mostly *children* in our group.

Suddenly, near the end of our meal, there was a commotion and we learned that the restaurant owner was calling the sheriff. Apparently, he had a confrontation with one of our student's parents in the parking lot. When an adult in our group calmly asked what the problem was to clear up any misunderstanding, the owner rudely told him to sit down ("It's none of your business!") and pointed at us, shouting, "Make sure they've paid the check!"

I wish there were a rating of ZERO stars because I just had the absolutely worst customer experience at this restaurant. My family and I have been eating there for the last several years after our martial arts class nearby. Tonight, we had 8 kids and 4 adults there to celebrate the end of our demo team's season. With our large party, we had paid up front for our pizzas and drinks and were sitting in the casual dining area by the door.

We were flabbergasted to be treated so disrespectfully as peaceful, paying customers. The owner's wife, who minutes before had served us with a smile, made no attempt to calm her husband down or apologize for his behavior. He shouted irately, "Get out, you're not welcome here," and gestured at all of us as if we had done something wrong, SCARING the kids and confusing the adults. Needless to say, we left and will NEVER be coming back.

This is some additional feedback regarding some awful conduct by the owner during our most recent visit. There is an account of what happened already in a another review. The owner has responded very defensively, which does not surprise me at all, based on his belligerent attitude last night.

I cannot imagine how this place will stay in business when these owners have such inexplicable hostility towards their customers.

After buying my house in October of last year I received a coupon free pizza and instantly fell in love with this place and been ordering from them and only them for the past year make a note that they've always delivered to my house because I have three young kids that is hard to get them out of the house to go pick up pizza but tonight when I called they told me that they don't deliver to my address which they probably delivered over a hundred pizza to my home we love their Pizza that much but informed me that they don't deliver to my property because I'm 7.3 miles from their business and they only deliver within 7 miles you have just lost a long-time customer I hope you're proud of yourselves..... After being in direct contact with the owner and making all the wrongs right I will be changing my post to a four-star review I appreciate us being able to still get pizza from you delivered to our home

There was an incident in the parking lot where he questioned the presence of a parent of one of the kids in our large party. He seemed to be very offended that the parent did not defer to him. It's not even clear that he identified himself properly as someone associated with the business. If you are waiting in your car at night to pick up your child, and a large stranger walks up to your car, would you roll down your window?

Very friendly! Amazing food! We visit or take out weekly and never a bad experience! Would recommend the cannolis, meatball sub, wife lives the salad but Good old pepperoni pizza tastes great even as left overs!

I would never rate a place 1-star just for bad/slow service or a bad meal. I believe in small business and support them whenever I can. Owners (who have the most to lose from a bad review) should not be unfairly punished over the actions of an employee. This is one of the rare cases where the OWNER treated his customers with extreme disdain and disrespect! 1-star is generous here, but sadly, zero stars is not an option on Google.

EDIT (added after the owner's response) - The owner continues to miss the point. What happened in the parking lot is IRRELEVANT. The way he treated his customers INSIDE the restaurant is the issue. There was no way anyone at our table represented any kind of "threat" to anyone's safety - real or imagined. It was basically a bunch of well-behaved kids. The only person who appeared to be a threat to anyone was the owner. We got those kids out of there as quickly as possible to get away from him. He was acting INSANE, and all the families involved are more than happy to never set foot inside Giovanni's again.

As soon as our instructor made it known to you that the man in the lot was with us, there should have been a simple apology for the misunderstanding. Instead, the owner CHOSE to escalate the situation into a bizarre scene involving the Sheriff.
